Whilst it may seem that the 2026 circuit racing is on the very distant horizon, it is less than 12 weeks before the start of the season, and before we know it, we will be in the peak season of May, June and July.
Let us not forget that there are evergreen marshals who have been active throughout the winter, covering rally events. These same rally events are ongoing through the winter, and are a great way to extend the end of the race season, or begin it a little earlier than usual.
Each region, and loyal marshals will always tell you that their circuit is the best to visit; however, having visited my fair share, here are the 5 must-visit UK circuits.
For this article, I want to focus on the circuit racing season and the tracks we think should be on your 2026 calendar. You don’t need to visit all of these circuits, but even if you visit one, we’re confident you will enjoy it.
Our 5 Must-Visit UK Circuits
1 – BRANDS HATCH, KENT
It is important that we mention this at the very top of the list. Even if you read nothing else, we wanted this one to be mentioned.
Brands Hatch is often overlooked and rarely spoken of as a ‘must-visit’ venue, and this year we can’t let that happen.
The British Touring Car Championship (BTCC), British GT Championship, British Truck Racing Championship, GT World Challenge Europe, British Superbike Championship, and many, many more all have one thing in common.
They are ALL going to have a race weekend at Brands Hatch.
With the exception of Silverstone, who host the British Grand Prix, and Donington Park, there aren’t many other circuits in the country that can go quite toe-to-toe with Brands Hatch in terms of the number of premier events.
On top of these top-end events, the heart of British motorsport clubs: BRSCC, BARC, 750 MC, BEMSEE and No Limits, to name a few, are all taking a race meeting to the Kent venue.
Yes, we appreciate that for those in the North of the UK, it is a bit of a journey, but it is well worth it for these events.
2 – CADWELL PARK, LlNCOLNSHIRE
This is a circuit that, ever since I visited it for the first time in 2025, I haven’t stopped banging on about it. Therefore, it was best to include this in this article.
The Mini Nurburgring very much earns its nickname. From the very first sweeping incline through Coppice into Charlies, and then the complex section down the hill through Gooseneck, before once again rising over Mountain and then into the final sequence of Hall Bends, Hairpin and Barn.
For those who have never been, these names will mean nothing to you, and I am going to keep it to that, as I don’t think words will do it justice at all. When you finally visit it, and it becomes apparent, you will be glad of the surprise. There is something rather fantastic about this venue: whilst some of the barriers seem a good way off, they can very rapidly appear if a driver has a problem, and in other places the barriers are so close that you can feel the driver hold their breath as they go through.
Every good word about this venue is warranted, and I would highly recommend this circuit.
3 – Croft, North Yorkshire
Every time I have written one of these ‘must-visit’ articles over the years, I’ve mentioned Croft, and upon re-reading the original articles, I completely agree with why I always recommend it.
The majority of circuits boast a warm welcome to visiting marshals, but there are a few that can quite hold a candle to the welcome and greeting that you get from the marshalling team at Croft. You are made to feel instantly like you belong, whether it is your first or your 1000th day; everyone is treated equally.
The circuit itself is an absolute marvel. Almost a complete lack of elevation, with the exception of the climb back from Sunny Out, and very fast sections mean the racing is usually frantic, and incidents can be large! Flagging can be a tough challenge too, particularly if allocated to Tower (post 8). With its blind approach and tricky braking, many a driver has ended up in the farmer’s field located there.
It doesn’t matter which event you choose to volunteer for; I can guarantee that you will have a great time.
4 – PEMBREY, WALES
How many have heard of this circuit, but more specifically, how many people have been to this circuit? Even I will admit that the South Wales circuit has eluded me for over 16 years in the sport.
This is something I would love to rectify, but I always scratch my head about when I will be able to visit. From the marshals that I know who have visited the circuit, I hear nothing but good things about it, so why do we never go?
Perhaps it is the distance? Maybe, but both Goodwood and Knockhill are some four to five hours’ drive from my house, yet I never stopped myself from going there. And it isn’t as if the racing at the venue isn’t of a good calibre; both BARC and 750 Motorclub (and others) hold events there. The British Truck Racing Championship has a regular race weekend schedule.
Simply, no apparent reasons would stop you from visiting this circuit, and I think it’s time that we give this South Wales venue a bit more love.
5 – ANGLESEY CIRCUIT, ANGLESEY
The short answer is, it’s Anglesey.
The long answer is as follows.
Anglesey is probably one of the most picturesque circuits in the UK, if not the most. I may even go so far as to say the entire world. As you stand at the top of Rocket, Peel or Corkscrew, you look out to a view that is simply unrivalled in motorsport. The track is fast and open, meaning this view can be appreciated from almost every post. This fast, open nature also lends itself to good close racing. Again, almost every post gives you a great vantage point to enjoy this.
It is almost like a painting: Snowdonia National Park in the background, the Irish Sea in the middle, and the circuit gently sweeping uphill in the foreground. Even when the weather is at its harshest, there is something rather pleasant, mysterious and magical about this venue.
Whilst it does suffer from a similar issue to Pembrey, being rather a long way from the majority of marshals in the country, events like the Race of Remembrance make the trip worth it. Whilst a 12-hour endurance race at Anglesey in the middle of November doesn’t sound appealing on paper, helping such a special cause and the moving remembrance service make the trip 100% worth it. It’s no wonder this event attracts in excess of 200 marshals, many of whom travel nearly 7 hours to get there.
Most race clubs in the UK host an event at this circuit every year or every other year. It can host endurance races, bike events, and drifting, and now includes a motocross section. There is very little that this circuit can’t do.
Also, did we mention the view?
There are many circuits within the UK that I have omitted from this list, but that doesn’t mean that they shouldn’t be within your 2026 calendar.
