My Story

So far

Since 1998, motorsports has always been a love of mine. In 2010, I was introduced to motorsport marshalling, and my world changed completely. At first, it was just a stepping stone to something else, but now it is a passion.

To say I caught the bug of marshalling is a complete understatement. I originally launched A Life In Orange in 2016 to share stories and musings from the race track – and after a few years (and life getting in the way) it stopped.

Thankfully, I found the time to start this blog up again and getting back to sharing stories and blogs about the sport and hobby that I love.

A Journey Through Racing

The racetrack is my comfort zone, which sounds weird as it is a place where the adrenaline gets pumping.

Whether it’s standing on the first turn as a rolling start hurtles towards you or on a lonely flag point keeping track of the racing providing the drivers with key information I will always be enjoying my time at the race track.

The Racing Line: Why I Marshal

Motorsport is more than just a hobby – it’s a worldwide community that connects you with like-minded people. From the circuit workers of the ovals of USA to the motorbike marshals of Australia, to the rally marshals of Finland and to the F1 marshals of Monaco, we all share the same love of the sport.

I marshal to meet new people and see new perspectives of motorsport that I may never have experienced before. There is always something to learn within the sport and that in itself is as exciting as the racing.
